FEB 14TH

Valentines day is just around the corner and im so excited to share with you what im doing for my lovah

since V-day is on monday its a work day for both of us {booo}, so i plan on making that dreadful drive to work a memorable and happy one.

im working on making five posters that will say different things like, i love you, happy valentines day, k+m=love... you get the picture. sunday night ill go place them on different stop sign poles on his route to work. then i have a gift that im hiding in the back of his car trunk. its nothing big just a wallet that he so desperately needs and since he wanted one for Christmas and never got it, i thought it would be the perfect gift.

last im challenging myself to make this yummy beautiful cake for a valentines day dessert because whats a valentines day without something sweet.

{you can learn how to make it here}

im so excited wish me luck!

what are your plans?

An army of shoppers

having friends or family members know what you like and your taste in style is awesome. its like having an army of personal shoppers scouting out amazing deals and beautiful finds when your busy working.

yesterday my mother-in-law and her friend were out and about going to yard sales and she came across four of these chairs for only twenty dollars.

she immediately text me a picture and i gasped when i received it. the chairs where amazing! The back framing was just gooorg and with a quick makeover these chairs would look amazing in my dinning room. so with my approval stamp she bought the chairs for me. what a success, my little army is awesome!

fit for a queen

at last the suspense is over!

this weekend i wanted to work on some of the little things around the house, such as my door knobs and as you seen in my last post that hideous gold was an eye sore. i even had nice silver door knobs, but the mismatching look wasn't helping anything. so i cleaned those babies up and you guessed it, spray painted them with this Rust-oleum metallic bronze.

from ugly and out of style

to sleek and lovely

the transformation turned out better then i imagined. The door knobs look fabulous and they make the room feel complete. After cleaning up everything and i mean everything because that's just what i do when i get something new i thought id run to Ross AGAIN and find something to go with my new door knobs.

while I'm shopping in Ross i was looking at these bed sheets and although i was there for items in my living room i couldn't help but stray off. i found this really beautiful bed sheet set for 14.99. i was upset because they didn't have a set for my bed size, so i put them back and that's when a light bulb went off. the sheet set was fit for a queen just the right size...... for a window treatment!!! yup that's right! i had been looking all over for the right curtains for my living room space and i wasn't even thinking about trying to find curtains at Ross. just goes to show how things can pop up when you least expect it. when i got back home i laid it out and folded it in half, cut down the middle and waa laa, brand new curtains.

they were perfect for the space. not to thick or heavy, more like light and airy, letting the sun shine threw its slight sheerness.

(notice the door knobs)

they were long and draped to the bottom which gave off a very elegant feel.

i also used the pillow cases to cover my ugly green ones.

(before)

(after)

I'm so ecstatic with the price and turn out of those bed sheets. they saved me money, provided lovely curtains and pillow cases for less then fifteen dollars and that is an amazing score!

hope the wait was worth it! have a great week :)

browsing ross

Since I hadn't been to Ross in a while and Marshals failed to impress me, I went on my lunch break to check out Ross's home decor. The trip was a success! I found a few things that came home with me, one of which is this iron sunburst thing.

I thought it could use a makeover so stay tuned for that. The other thing I purchased was this bronze garden stool for a steal of 29.99! Now I know I'm a little late on this trend but how can you pass that up.

any ways there was another garden stool that no one could miss with its bright orange design it poked out like a sour thumb.

gorgeous isn't it! i didn't buy this one but I'm talking myself into going back and grabbing it before i regret it. this one was forty five dollars if i remember correctly.

After a quick zoom through a few more isles I found myself in the pillow section and came across these two fluffy shag pillows for 6.99.

These are the same exact pillows I saw at pier one just cheaper. Pier one had there shag pillows at 39.95 and at west elms they are selling similar pillows from 49 to 129. OUTRAGEOUS if you ask me. these didnt come home with me but im sure they will find a nice home.

this rug was cute but that mirror made my heart skip a beat. i saw the same one at marshals about 4 months ago, not even kidding! i wanted to buy it so bad but i wanted two and we all know you can rarely find two of the same things at ross or marshals lol... so i had to leave it. i even thought to myself that i should just buy it because another one might show up there or at another department store, but nooo i didnt. now, with just my luck i find another one :( thrilled but upset at the same time.

when i saw that mirror i thought about this photo from decorpad.

and a couple of days ago i stumbled accross nuestra vida dulce's blog who was also loving this look and found two of these mirrors together

that lucky girl :)

so heres the rest of what i loved

and these three very large paintings

enjoy your thursday everyone :)
